A XVIIIth centuty chateau
In 1975, Mariano Pelaéz bought the Chateau "La Moreira". This was the last step to cover his Marqués de Vizhoja with a scene that has the name and the hope of having his own vineyard. Little by little he got the land roundabout until to get 38 hectares of plantation around that XVIIIth century chateau.
Unlike other chateaux, this one, the stone is combined with the militar air of the fortified structure, provided with finished off small windows and with two battlements, from which all the valley is divided strategically. The border zone between the kingdoms of Spain and Portugal, it must have been scene of battles or, at least, fights and skirmishes between the two of the river Miño.
